Juicy Details on Celebrity Poker Circle Revealed

A lawsuit filed against Spiderman star, Tobey Maguire, had the media scrambling juicy details on the said celebrity poker circle. After all, this kind of thing was stuff for movies, something that you’d expect to see in the box office and not in real life. Sure enough, some pretty juicy details about the poker circle were revealed scant days after the scandal broke. These details, if anything, only made the circle seem more ominous and – if possible – made the people hunger for even more.

Celebs aren’t actually strangers to the world of poker. Take any high profile charity poker tournament and you’ll usually find some well-meaning celebs in the roster of players. Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, for example, are regulars at the Ante up for Africa Charity Tournament. But what people didn’t know was that these celebs actually had more involvement in the game than they let on. As it turns out, some of the biggest celebrities in the industry were partaking in huge underground cash games. These celebs included Dynamic Duo, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, Leonardo DiCaprio, Nick Cassavetes, and of course, the star of this scandal, taking centerstage in all the chaos, Tobey Maguire. They weren’t the only ones involved in the underground poker games. There were also some very high profile entrepreneurs, lawyers, and more. This underground club – as you’d expect from the illustrious list of names – was very exclusive. In fact, during the whole time that it ran from 2005 to 2007, people could only get in if they had an invitation.

The interesting thing about the club, however, was that the atmosphere while playing was very intense. You’d normally expect to see some light banter or something between these powerful men, but rumor has it that there was none. The mood was said to be very serious. There were no jokes being traded, no light conversation, not even a smidgeon of alcohol. These guys were serious about their cards. Pots often grew as big as $150,000 and some of the players often lost more than half a million in just one sitting. They played on credit, so if a member couldn’t pay, then he was banned from the club for the rest of his life. Also, as you’d expect from a group of bigwigs gathering together to play cards, there were quite a number of luxuries present during the games. There were dealers, delicious food, a full bar, massage girls, and the security was very heavy.
