WSOP Coverage Currently Streaming on ESPN

Unless youre one of the lucky poker fans currently sitting on the rail at the Rio in Las Vegas, text articles and brief video clips have been the only way to follow along with the 2011 World Series of Poker. Until now, that is ESPN is currently streaming coverage of the WSOP Main Event, making the worlds richest poker tournament accessible to the international masses.

ESPNs Main Event coverage will be broadcasted as unedited video with a 30-minute tape delay, and hole cards will be displayed on-screen.

Kara Scott: I’m a sleepwalker

The Main Event has kicked off here at the WSOP and more and more people are streaming into Vegas to play it.

A few days ago Party Poker had a welcome evening for some of our players and so I headed to the lovely suite they have at the Palazzo, to say hi to some people.

I wasnt able to stay very long as I had to run back to the Rio for some work but Im hoping to have a chance to hang out with all our Party players a bit more this week.

I have a few days off before work starts again for me (ESPN coverage of the Main Event begins on Day 3 this year) so Ive moved to the Cosmopolitan for a break.

WSOP Main Event Day 5: More than 90 players eliminated during Level 19

LAS VEGAS — Day 5, also known as moving day. It’s the day where chip counts swing massively and players try to position themselves for the home stretch. A total of 378 players returned to action on Saturday and as seen on ESPN2, the eliminations have been coming at a rapid rate. More than 90 players were eliminated during Level 19, leaving the main event with 282 players remaining.

One of the first November Niners, Darus Suharto, was one of the first eliminations on the day. Suharto, on the short stack, moved in with A-Q against Ray Henson’s 10-10. It was a coin flip between the 12th-place finisher in 2007 and the sixth-place finsher in 2008 and Henson’s pair would held knock out Suharto in 370th.
