Sic Bo
Sic Bo might not be one of the best known online casino gambling games, but it has an extremely long history (the origins of Sic Bo can be traced back to ancient China) and it can be every bit as enjoyable to play as roulette or craps. Like both of those games, Sic Bo is a game of chance, and this one involves betting on the outcome of three dice after they have been shaken in a cup or cage. As you would expect, Sic Bo provides a variety of betting options from simple even money shots to much more challenging bets that require you to be much more specific – and quite a bit luckier!
Placing bets in a game of Sic Bo involves putting the required number of chips on the relevant section of the table layout, as you would in a game of craps or roulette. Obviously the design of the Sic Bo layout may vary from casino to casino, but the layout itself will be much the same wherever you play, so once you are familiar with Sic Bo at one casino you will have no trouble playing at any other.
There are literally dozens of bets that you can place at a Sic Bo table, but rather than spend time describing every possible bet, we will now run through the most popular Sic Bo bets and leave you to discover the rest at the casino of your choice:
Big – Bet that the total of the three dice will fall in the range 11 to 17, but no triples (three dice showing the same amount) are allowed. The payoff is 1 to 1 (even money).
Small – Bet that the total of the dice will fall in the range 4 to 10, but no triples are allowed. Again, the payoff is 1 to 1.
Odd – Bet that the total of the dice will be an odd number for a payoff of 1 to 1. No triples allowed.
Even – Bet that the total of the dice will be an even number for a payoff of 1 to 1. No triples allowed.
Specific Total – Bet on the total of the three dice (no triples). Here the payoff reflects the chances of the total being achieved, from 6 to 1 to 60 to 1.
Combination – Bet that a two-dice combination will appear among the three dice (for example, 6 and 1) for a payoff of 6 to 1.
Specific Double – Bet that a specified double will appear among the three dice (for example, 1-1) for a payoff of 10 to 1.
Any Triple – Bet that the three dice will all show the same number for a payoff of 30 to 1.
Specific Triple – Bet that the three dice will show a specified triple (for example, 7-7-7) for a payoff of 180 to 1.
As you can see, there are bets to suit all types of players regardless of whether you prefer low-risk or high-risk bets, and there are even more betting opportunities that you will discover when you explore the game for yourself. 32Red Casino (review here) has a great version of Sic Bo, so if you fancy trying something a little different, why not have a go and see what you think? Good luck!
