Genting Poker Series tournament schedule released

Yesterday Genting Poker announced the creation of a new live tournament series that will take place across the UK, the Genting Poker Series. The Genting Poker Series will feature seven stops in its inaugural season, culminating with a stop in London for a £1,500 buy-in Main Event in December 2012.

The first six stops on the 2012 Genting Poker Series schedule will all feature £400 buy-ins, including one tournament that will take place online (the first mixture of a live and online tournament series in poker). Genting Poker is guaranteeing a total of £800k in prize-money between the seven stops.

* Date: November 10-13, 2012

* Location: Online Tournament at Genting Poker

Leg 7 Main Event

* Date: December 7-11, 2012

* Location: Palm Beach Casino, London

* Buy-In: £1,500+£100

Genting Poker has been around for a while, but in recent weeks the site has been on the tip of everyone’s tongues after they entered an exclusive agreement with The Hendon Mob (who had previously had an exclusive agreement with Full Tilt Poker) followed by purchasing the Fox Poker Club just days ago. With these moves, as well as adding James Akenhead to their sponsored pro roster, it would seem that Genting Poker is making a serious play for the UK poker market.
